The offer combined a standard lesson with one of the Bishopbriggs pros and then a detailed online lesson analysis, delivered using eAcademy technology, all with a huge Groupon discount. The offer certainly had the desired effect as an amazing 317 individuals signed up!
The eAcademy software and web platform employed at Bishopbriggs allows teaching professionals to capture a customer’s swing, perform detailed analysis and then produce an individual lesson summary, complete with audio commentary. This lesson summary is then uploaded to the organisation’s fully branded, online platform and at the same time, emailed directly to the customer who can view their lesson summary instantly on computer, tablet or smartphone. Furthermore, the customer is able to sign in to the eAcademy at any time, to review their lesson summaries or any specific teaching content their coach has assigned to them, such as short game tips and putting drills. Optimal Analysis had an outstanding week at the PGA Show, held at the Orange County Convention Centre, Orlando, Florida. We were hosted at the show by our US partners, ForeGolf, who brought together an eclectic mix of leading golf technologies, including their innovative Sirgul simulator based on our very own Sports Coach technology.
The show was a U.S. coming-out party for our eAcademy product, powered by Vertex technology. Vertex allows the Golf Pro to give the best in integrated video teaching whilst at the range or in a simulator, seamlessly bringing together launch monitor and pressure array data with up to 8 high speed camera feeds. This analysis is then uploaded to a fully-customisable, branded, online academy.
The eAcademy allows golf professionals and coaching facilities to manage their entire database of students directly from the software, as well as hosting an online library of tips and drills that can be assigned to each student, creating an online lesson that can be used long after the physical lesson has ended.
While eAcademy is a great teaching and communication tool, it is also geared towards making money for the Club or Pro that own it; allowing targeted advertising from sponsors or manufacturers, as well as being able to charge students for remote lessons or viewing additional library content.

The opening of the PGA show is to be delayed due to extreme weather conditions. Tornado warnings were broadcast yesterday across the state of Florida, bringing outdoor demo day preparations to a standstill, delaying the opening by an hour.
Meanwhile, inside the West Concourse building at the Orange County Convention Centre show, preparations were uninterrupted. Our US partners, ForeGolf, have designed and created a great stand and we’re looking forward to a productive few days in Orlando.
