Optimal Have a Successful Week at PGA ShowOptimal Analysis had an outstanding week at the PGA Show, held at the Orange County Convention Centre, Orlando, Florida. We were hosted at the show by our US partners, ForeGolf, who brought together an eclectic mix of leading golf technologies, including their innovative Sirgul simulator based on our very own Sports Coach technology.

The show was a U.S. coming-out party for our eAcademy product, powered by Vertex technology. Vertex allows the Golf Pro to give the best in integrated video teaching whilst at the range or in a simulator, seamlessly bringing together launch monitor and pressure array data with up to 8 high speed camera feeds. This analysis is then uploaded to a fully-customisable, branded, online academy.

The eAcademy allows golf professionals and coaching facilities to manage their entire database of students directly from the software, as well as hosting an online library of tips and drills that can be assigned to each student, creating an online lesson that can be used long after the physical lesson has ended.

While eAcademy is a great teaching and communication tool, it is also geared towards making money for the Club or Pro that own it; allowing targeted advertising from sponsors or manufacturers, as well as being able to charge students for remote lessons or viewing additional library content.

foregolf PGA Merchandise Show set to get off to a thunderous startThe opening of the PGA show is to be delayed due to extreme weather conditions. Tornado warnings were broadcast yesterday across the state of Florida, bringing outdoor demo day preparations to a standstill, delaying the opening by an hour.

Meanwhile, inside the West Concourse building at the Orange County Convention Centre show, preparations were uninterrupted. Our US partners, ForeGolf, have designed and created a great stand and we’re looking forward to a productive few days in Orlando.

The Seve Ballesteros Golf Academy makes waves in Madrid

Ifema – Feria de Madrid was the location for one of Europe’s biggest golf shows last week. The 2010 Madrid Golf Show represented the chance for the Seve Ballesteros Golf Academy and Seve Ballesteros Foundation to showcase their achievements to a European fan-base and increase the support for a legend of the game.

Evergolf Madrid kindly provided a state of the art simulator for the SBGA and the team were ably supported by the Foundation staff, who were, luckily, willing translators! Despite competition from other golf simulators at the show, the popularity of our ambassador and the extremely worthwhile cause being promoted meant that the Seve Ballesteros Golf Academy and Foundation stand proved very popular with the locals. Professionals and amateurs alike queued to donate their time and money to the cause and were rewarded with a video of their swing, compared of course, with the legendary Seve Ballesteros.

This years show also provided an opportunity for Spain to promote their bid to host the 2018 Ryder Cup. The Spanish have a wonderful Ryder Cup record, providing players and venues in many of the recent battles. The most notorious including Miguel Angel Jimenez, Sergio Garcia and of course, European stalwart, past player and captain, Seve Ballesteros.
